The Amsterdam Centre for European Law and Governance (ACELG) at the University of Amsterdam will host a lecture by Sabine Frerichs, Professor of Economic Sociology at the Vienna University. Her research focuses on the relationship between law, the economy and society, combining insights from legal scholarship and the social sciences.
In this lecture, Frerichs will examine the role of law in European economic integration through a comparison of the common market and the Economic and Monetary Union. Drawing on an economic-sociological perspective, she will explore how legal frameworks both shape and are shaped by economic developments, offering new insights into the interaction between law, markets and governance within the European integration project.
