What knowledge and insights do we need to combat climate change and shape the energy transition with a view to a sustainable future, and, importantly, how do we develop this knowledge and these insights? These questions will be central to the inaugural research conference ‘Powering Change Together: Transdisciplinary Research for Socially Just Climate and Energy Transitions’. The conference is organized by the Academic Collaborative Center for Climate and Energy at Tilburg University. In the Center, Tilburg University researchers and societal partners work together to develop, apply, and disseminate scientific knowledge and practical insights in the field of climate action and energy transition, thereby contributing to a socially just transition to a sustainable society. The program will feature parallel workshops structured around the four research themes of the Center – market design and regulation; governance and participation; digitalization and data-driven innovation; and communication and behavior – as well as plenary sessions addressing cross-cutting issues that will foster connections within and across disciplines. The event will bring together both established and emerging scholars from around the world and provide an opportunity to present their research, receive constructive feedback, exchange ideas, explore opportunities for collaboration with peers, and contribute to shaping the future of the field. To foster discussion, each parallel thematic workshop includes around twenty participants, personally invited to ensure diversity in background and career stage. If you are interested in presenting your work in one of the workshops and participating in the conference, you can submit your abstract. The workshops welcome theoretical papers, empirical studies, and practical applications that advance knowledge and practice within one of the Center’s four research themes. Your research does not need to be finished or published. Registrations are also open for attendance without presenting a paper.
