The ELS Academy will launch the 2026-2027 academic year with a full-day event dedicated to career development in empirical legal studies. Under the theme Crafting Your ELS Career, participants will explore key questions facing early-career and established researchers alike, including methodological training, publishing strategies, research funding, and career opportunities within the growing field of empirical legal studies. The programme will bring together scholars at different stages of their academic careers and will also feature presentation sessions for researchers working on empirical legal research projects.

The event is organised by the ELS Academy and hosted by Leiden University. One presenter will receive a research grant of € 2.000 following the presentation sessions.
