Generative AI is becoming an integral part of researchers’ daily routines. Whether it’s using tools like ChatGPT for writing assistance, AI for analyzing survey data, or building chatbots for social and psychological experiments, AI is revolutionizing the research process. But with these advancements come important ethical and legal issues that every researcher must understand. This workshop, organised by Tilburg University aims to:
• Explore Key Legal Domains: Understand the core legal issues involved in using AI in research, including GDPR compliance, intellectual property rights, and the AI Act.
• Identify Ethical Pitfalls: Engage in discussions about fairness, bias, and transparency in AI-driven research tools, and learn how to address these challenges in your own work.
• Practical Guidance for Researchers: Learn what to do and what not to do when incorporating AI into your research, ensuring your practices remain both ethical and legally sound.
