Judge Dire Tladi has served as a Judge of the International Court of Justice since 6 February 2024. Drawing on his experience as a judge, scholar, and former government adviser, Tladi will reflect on how international courts engage with complex global challenges and how legal reasoning is shaped by institutional mandates, historical context, and evolving international realities.

The event will be followed by a conversation with Professor Anna Spain Bradley, MacArthur Foundation Chair in International Justice and Human Rights at UCLA School of Law and Faculty Director of The Promise Institute for Human Rights, followed by a Q&A.
