International Holocaust Remembrance Day is a globally recognized day of commemoration established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2005. Observed annually on January 27th, it serves as a poignant reminder of the Holocaust’s victims while aiming to foster education and awareness regarding its historical significance and enduring lessons.

Since 2019, Stichting CHAJ, in collaboration with the municipality of The Hague and the Embassy of Israel in The Netherlands, has been organizing a lecture at the Peace Palace Academy Building. This lecture aims to delve into the profound impact of the Holocaust on international law, providing a meaningful platform for commemoration.
This year the International Holocaust Remembrance Day The Hague will take place on Monday February 2nd.

Speakers:
• Burgemeester Jan van Zanen, Den Haag: Learning Lessons from the Holocaust
• Dineke de Groot, President Hoge Raad der Nederlanden
• Holocaustsurvivor Dr. Ir. Ronald E. Waterman.
