The Dutch National Group of the AIDP (Gezelschap voor Internationaal Strafrecht - GIS) is introducing a new initiative: the establishment of a Young section within the Dutch National Group of the AIDP. This initiative is organised by Alice Giannini, an Assistant Professor in Criminal Law at the University of Maastricht, specializing in the intersection of artificial intelligence and criminal law and Gaetano Ancona, a PhD candidate in criminal law at Maastricht University, with a research focus on improving cooperation in asset recovery within the European Union. Their goal is to create a vibrant network of young academics with a deep interest in criminal law and to actively participate in the global community of Young Penalists, also through the organization of a Symposium for Young Penalists and other related activities. They aspire to unite young scholars from various Dutch universities, creating a nationwide representation.
