The NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence, the War Studies Research Centre of the Netherlands Defence Academy and the Amsterdam Center for International Law are organising an international conference on the law applicable to the use of biometrics by armed forces.

The conference will feature high-level panel discussions on a range of topics, including: (Autonomous) Weapons systems and biometrics under the Law of Armed Conflict; The convergence of biometrics and artificial intelligence in the military domain; Biometric data and targeting operations; and, European law implications for the use of biometric data by the armed forces.

The conference will also include briefs and expert presentations about: Battlefield evidence; Best practices from biometric exercises; and, Research projects concerning aspects of military data protection.
